Cherry Hills Community Church was the innovation of a Bible study group called Eye of the Needle, which met in Cherry Hills Village just south of Denver, Colorado. Jim Dixon was chosen to serve as senior pastor, and on March 7, 1982, a surprising 300 people attended the first Sunday service, meeting in an existing church building at 90 East Orchard Road.
By June of 1983, our congregation had tripled in size and subsequently approved the purchase and remodeling of a school building at 3651 South Colorado Boulevard. A second relocation in 1995 brought us further south to serve rapidly developing suburban communities. This time, a plot of land was selected and an entirely new facility was constructed.
Cherry Hills Community Church now occupies a dynamic campus on 66 acres of land in the heart of Highlands Ranch, with facilities totaling 255,000 square feet.
Our main building includes a 3,500-seat auditorium, commons, Wild Blue Coffee, prayer room, Inklings bookstore, library, gymnasium and numerous classrooms. Outdoor spaces include a patio, The Memorial Garden, athletic fields and playgrounds.
As a separate and special landmark, The Chapel hosts weddings, funerals, memorials and other significant events.
